What this website stores on your device, why, and how to change your mind.
Section 01
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On your next visit the site can read it back.
Cookies do a range of jobs. Some are needed for a site to work at all — remembering what you have chosen, or keeping a page secure. Others count visits so the site’s owner can see which pages are useful.
A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays for a set period. A first-party cookie is set by the site you are on; a third-party cookie is set by another organisation whose service the site uses.

What this site uses
We keep this simple. The site uses:
- Strictly necessary cookies — a small number needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These do not need your consent, and cannot be switched off through the banner.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. These only run if you accept them.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell any of this data.

Exact cookie names and durations depend on how Google Analytics and our hosting are configured, and Google may change its own defaults. Treat the table as the usual position rather than a guarantee. If you want to see precisely what is set on a given visit, your browser’s developer tools will list it.
Section 04
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and roughly where visits come from. It tells us whether the site is doing its job. It does not tell us who you are.
Analytics runs only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, the analytics scripts are not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
Google acts as our processor for this data, and may transfer and store it outside the UK under the safeguards required by UK data protection law. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site you visit; you will find it by searching for the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
What we do with the resulting data is set out in our privacy policy.
Section 05
Local browser storage
Alongside cookies, the site may use your browser’s local storage to hold small preferences — for example, remembering that you have already dismissed the cookie banner. This stays on your device, is not sent to us, and is cleared when you clear your browsing data.
Section 06
Changing or withdrawing consent
The banner appears on your first visit. Nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies is set until you make a choice.
You can change your mind at any time:
- Clear this site’s cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The banner will appear again on your next visit and you can choose differently.
- Or block or delete analytics cookies directly in your browser, using the steps below.
Declining analytics does not affect how the site works. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of it working properly.
Section 07
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you see, delete and block cookies. The wording moves around between versions, so these are the paths in general terms — if in doubt, search your browser’s own help for “cookies”.
Google Chrome
Open the three-dot menu, then Settings. Go to Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies, and Site settings for a specific site. To clear what is already stored, use Delete browsing data.
Microsoft Edge
Open the three-dot menu, then Settings. Go to Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Safari
On a Mac, open Safari’s Settings, then the Privacy tab, and use Manage Website Data. On an iPhone or iPad, open the device Settings app, choose Safari, and use the privacy and security options there.
Mozilla Firefox
Open the menu, then Settings. Go to Privacy & Security, and use Cookies and Site Data and the Enhanced Tracking Protection options.
You can also browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.

This page covers cookies only. What we collect through the enquiry form, why we hold it, how long we keep it and what rights you have is in our privacy policy. Our terms of use cover use of the website itself.

Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the cookies on the site change, or when Google changes what Analytics sets. The date at the top shows the current version.
